JournalSelect: Stochastic Gradient Descent Prediction of the Most Suitable Journals for a New Manuscript
[Need help? Click here]
JournalSelect predicts the most suitable journals for a new manuscript based on machine-learning models trained with 1.3 million published articles from 1,560 biomedical/life science journals.
To use JournalSelect, ► [1a] a user needs to select the plain text file (TEXT file, such as those with '.txt' extension) that contains the text of the manuscript that the user wants to examine. A pdf file may also be used used, but is less prefered. Alternatively, ► [1b] the user can directly paste the plain text content of the manuscript into the text area marked " Content of the Manuscript". The user can then click "Process input locally (no internet required) ⧐", then ► "Submit hash to web server ⧐". That's it! The most suitable journals for the manuscript will then be presented to the user in about one second or less.
Manuscripts' contents are processed locally on users’ computers. The manuscripts and the contents of the green boxes are NEVER transmitted over the internet. The content of the red box will be transmitted to JournalSelect's web server when the user clicks "Submit hash to web server ⧐".
Further assistance may be sought via email: email@example.com . You may also request for a copy of the author's manuscript and/or supplementary data through email.
[1a] Select Manuscript (Plain text, .txt, file. PDF file is less prefered.)*
*The manuscript and/or the contents within the green boxes will be processed locally on your computer and will NEVER be transmitted/sent over the internet so as to maintain the confidentiality of your unpublished work. This is why a text file is needed so that it can be easily processed locally within your web browser. A PDF file is less preferred because text extraction from PDF files is still experimental and is often problematic. Alternatively, you can paste the text content of the manuscript in the text area provided below.

 Randomly Shuffled Hash
**Clicking "Submit hash to web server" will send the contents within this red box (which have absolutely no known reverse mapping to the real manuscript) to JournalSelect's web server. Contents within the green boxes and/or the manuscript file above will NEVER be transmitted over the internet.
